The Manly masters crew has raced the Coolangatta Gold since 2013 — mostly the sprint, mostly in teams, always with an eye on the other Manly crews. This is the running log: the teams, the times, and every photo worth keeping.

The full surf sports experience in about an hour. It mirrors the 25.6 in design — ski, swim, board and a run to finish, all through the Coolangatta surf zone.

The club's spirit award

The Golden Rudder

Awarded to the Manly competitor who best shows the club's spirit at the Coolangatta Gold — the one who lifts the crew, not the one who wins. The Rudder itself was forged from Coolangatta beach — timber off the sand and a medal from the race podium. The first went to Joe in 2016, “for inspiring all who come near”.

Every year since 2013 is in here — some thinner than others: 2019 (11 photos) and 2026 (3 photos). Photos sitting in your camera roll from any past race go straight into the right year.
